Planning

Planning Your Next Step

Not knowing where to begin is often the hardest part.

Before any move happens, it’s important to slow down and gain clarity about what comes next. We help you thoughtfully plan your transition by starting with the most important question: Where will you feel comfortable, supported, and at home?

Working alongside trusted local partners, we guide you through senior-friendly housing options that align with your care needs, personal preferences, and budget. Our recommendations are never rushed or one-size-fits-all.

Whether your next home is independent living, a 55+ community, assisted living, or memory care, we help you understand your options and make a decision that feels right for you and your family.

You don’t have to figure this out alone. We’re here to help you create a clear plan—one step at a time

Floor Planning

Floor Planning & Furniture Guidance

Once you know where you’re moving, we help you decide which furniture and belongings will work best in your new home—so you can bring what you love and what truly fits your next chapter.

We carefully measure your furniture and create a simple floor plan based on your new space. This allows us to thoughtfully arrange items in advance, ensuring everything fits comfortably and feels familiar before moving day arrives.

Our goal is to remove uncertainty and help your new home feel welcoming, comfortable, and well planned from the very beginning.

For many seniors and families, the hardest part of this process is knowing where to begin.

At Taylor Made Moves, we create a personalized plan based on your needs, preferences, and budget. Using a proven, step-by-step approach, we guide you in making thoughtful decisions about what to keep and what to let go of—always at your pace.

You remain in control of every decision.

Our role is to honor your memories and collections while helping you gently release items that no longer serve your next chapter.

Once those decisions are made, we handle the details. We coordinate estate sales (or manage them for you), work with trusted consignment shops and charitable organizations, and arrange for the removal of remaining household items—so you’re not left managing it all on your own.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by questions like:

  • Where do I even start?

  • Do we have the time or energy to do this ourselves?

  • What should be kept, sold, donated, or discarded?

  • How do we handle the attic, garage, or basement?

You’re not alone—and you don’t have to navigate this process by yourself.

We’re here to help you move forward with clarity, confidence, and peace of mind.

Packing/Estate Sales

Packing & Belongings Coordination

Your belongings represent a lifetime of memories, and they deserve to be handled with care.

Taylor Made Moves carefully packs your home using appropriate materials to help ensure your possessions are protected throughout the move. If there are items you wish to share with out-of-town family members, we can thoughtfully pack and ship those items on your behalf, with shipping costs paid by the client.

For belongings you choose not to take with you, we coordinate with trusted estate sale and liquidation partners—or manage the estate sale for you—helping items be sold or donated according to your wishes. This coordination is included as part of our service, at no additional charge.

Our goal is to reduce stress, protect what matters most, and ensure every detail is handled with care and respect.

Arrange Movers

Move Coordination & Day-of Support

We work with trusted moving partners to help you receive clear, competitive estimates and choose a mover that feels right for you.

On moving day, we are there in person to coordinate with the movers and oversee the details, helping the day unfold smoothly and without unnecessary stress.

You remain in control throughout the process. You select your mover and pay them directly for their services, while we stay by your side to ensure everything goes as planned.

Unpack & Resettle into New Home

Unpacking & Settling In

Moving isn’t finished until you feel comfortable in your new home.

We help you settle in by unpacking and arranging your belongings in a way that feels familiar and welcoming. Furniture is carefully placed, clothing is put away, and essential areas like the kitchen and bathrooms are set up so you can begin using your home right away.

Our goal is to help you feel at ease and truly settled on moving day—so your new space feels like home from the very beginning.

Selling the House & other Services

Preparing and Selling Your Home

When it’s time to sell your home, you don’t have to manage it alone.

We help ease the burden by coordinating the steps needed to prepare your home for sale and guiding you through the process with patience, clarity, and care. From beginning to end, we handle the details so the experience doesn’t feel rushed or overwhelming.

To help moving day feel calmer, we can also arrange for pets to be safely cared for while everything is underway.

If an estate sale is part of your transition, we assist you in selecting a trusted estate sale company—or help organize a sale that reflects your preferences and timeline. This coordination is included as part of our service, so you’re not left juggling multiple tasks or decisions.

Our goal is to help this stage of the transition feel organized, supported, and as stress-free as possible—so you can move forward with confidence and peace of mind.
